Course Services

Final Lap offers services designing new courses, measurement and certification. Designing a race course is more than determining a start and finish line. Start and finish line space, width of course route, surface, vehicle traffic and road closures are a few items a race needs to consider while designing a course. Final Lap can assist you with the best location and route for your race.
Many races advertise their race as a specific distance but it is discovered after the race, the course was too short or long. Course measurement service will follow the process according to the United State of America Track & Field (USATF) standards. This process involves using a Jones Counter that is attached to bike wheel. Calibration of the bike is required for each measurement to ensure 99.9% accuracy. Documentation detailing the course layout, mile marker locations, elevation and other markings will be provided for the race’s director.
